Face of Melinda: I liked it. Both the first half and second half were good in their own ways.

Blackwater Park: I'm not too big on growling, so this was my least favorite of these songs. I didn't entirely dislike the song though.

Ghost of Perdition: Despite its own portions of growling, this is probably my favorite song of the three. I enjoyed its complexity.

Thanks for this little introduction to them. emoticon

Most of Opeth's better songs are in the style of Ghost of Perdition, so you should definitely check out more. I would recommend starting with Watershed or Ghost Reveries because they have the least amount of growling, or at least an equal mix. The album Damnation has no growling at all and is very mellow, much in the style of the first half of Face of Melinda. Their last three albums have been 100% prog rock, which has put off many older fans who enjoyed the death metal side more. Blackwater Park is probably their best album though.

Give this one a listen too because I think it has the best outro of any metal song I've heard and sounds incredible live (they always play it as the encore):
