I'm not sure if anyone here has seen any of the AHS seasons, but I am a huge fan of this show! Most seasons are really good, my least favorite would have to be Roanoke. Anyways, whenever they announced that season 9 was going to be an 80's slasher theme I was totally excited! 80's slasher movies are one of my favorites!

@Pick & I were able to watch the first episode on Thursday and I was really impressed. The acting was cute & cheesy like a normal 80's slasher. I think they have a pretty good cast this season, although I do miss Sarah Paulson & Evan Peters, but I totally understand why they both needed to take a break.

I am looking forward to see how the rest of the season goes. A lot of people are saying they get the Friday the 13th vibes, and I see it too, but whenever I first saw the trailer I got Sleepaway Camp vibes! So I am excited to see what twists this season will have!

Any thoughts? Anyone else love this show as much as I do? I'd love to hear!

I've been slacking on watching the past two episodes and now 3! I recently became sick and have only wanted to be sleeping! So I'll have to come back when I watch all of it so we can have a discussion about this season altogether!
Definitely love getting your opinion on this!

Agreed that the opening credits is great. I thought it was an alright season. Still a bit sad that we didn't get any Billy Idol, but whatever. I also kinda hated that this season ended with one of those stupid 80s songs that I hear every fucking day at the 99 cent store. Even one of the promos for this season had a song I hear there way too much, so it kinda killed my buzz, but fortunately for me, I was still pretty drunk either way.

Haha! I hate that song too. But I think it fit really well. 80s movies always have a cheesy ending with an even cheesier song. It was a fun season, but Asylum and Apocalypse are still my favorites.

Apocalypse being listed among someone's favorites? Is this a first? emoticon

As long as Hotel isn't your favorite... emoticon

I think I liked it so much because they brought other previous seasons into it.

And btw, Hotel isn't the worst. Roanoke is.

Those are said to be the low points of the series, but I wouldn't know. I don't pay too much attention to most tv shows and I fell off this one for a whole 5 seasons. When Finn Witrock came on, I was having Nam flashbacks because he looked so much older to me that I had to think about how long it had been.

I've only seen the first two episodes of Apocalypse, but I thought it was really good! I need to finish it. As for Asylum, that's my favorite! I don't think anything will top it for me!

I agree about the 80s song. It was cheesy, but I liked that it ended in a cheesy way because as you said, most 80s movies end cheesy!

Is it OK to talk about this here yet? I liked the ending. That's all I'll say right now.

They had their chance. But spoilers wont really mess up the viewers' experience much either way since the show is so batshit crazy that none of it really makes a difference. Everyone is a ghost and everyone is a killer. spoilzzz...

there were theories going around, a few episodes back, that aliens were involved somehow. I still wonder if that might be possible. The way Brooke looked at the end is just very unlikely, unless there was some kind of time travel or alien technology involved. Hey, I think I just said that spoilerlessly, good for me.

So what's the consensus of this season? I haven't watched any of it yet, but I'm curious. Also basically just skimmed over most of the responses here in case there were spoilers, so forgive me if you guys already made it clear. Is it even anywhere near as good as Asylum?

I think most of this season was pretty good. I think there were two episodes I didn't really like, but the rest was good! I actually like the direction the second half of the season took. So all in all a good season. It's way better than Roanoke, which I just struggled to get through...but no where near as good as asylum! I don't think any season could be!

Roanoke is the only season I've never seen one episode of.

Cool, thanks. I'll probably fire it up soon.

Definitely don't watch Roanoke! It's terrible. I can't believe I managed to finish it! I haven't seen an episode of hotel, so I don't really know how that one is.

Definitely not. I never wondered if I should bother finishing Asylum. 1984 isn't all bad though. Without a doubt it's better than Hotel.

That's good to know. Only made it two or three episodes into Hotel before I bowed out.

I'm falling so far behind on this. I have been working open-close for the past 2-3 weeks now I never get the chance to do anything! I'm trying to work my way so I can watch the last 3 episodes I've missed. After the last episode I watched whenever Montana and them are all killing for fun since they are stuck there/Mr. Jingles turns against the night stalker... It kinda just went meh for me. The first few episodes were great, and I really thought that this season was going to be fantastic. Next time I have a day off I'll have to catch up and see how it ended. People are already saying this is one of the worst seasons... Have they watched hotel??

There's no way it's one of the worst seasons. It's easily better than Hotel and it sounds better than some of the seasons that happened between Hotel and 1984. I rank it somewhere above Hotel and Murder House and below Asylum.

You might as well finish it at this point. This season's had its ups and downs, but I didn't hate it overall. I also liked the finale. Not as much as those first few episodes, but there were some scenes in the finale I thought were pretty good.
