Like the Zombi series, most of these were retitled and actually have nothing to do with eachother.

1. Demons AKA Dรจmoni (1985)

2. Demons 2 AKA Dรจmoni 2 (1986)

3. The Ogre AKA La Casa Dell'orco AKA Demons 3: The Ogre (1988)

4. The Church AKA La Chiese AKA Demons 3 (1989)

5. Black Demons AKA Dรจmoni 3 AKA Demons 3 (1991)

6. The Devil's Daughter AKA La Setta AKA Demons 4 (1991)

7. The Mask of the Demon AKA La Maschera del Demonio AKA Demons 5: The Devil's Veil (1989)

8. The Black Cat AKA Il Gatto Nero AKA Demons 6: De Profundis (1989)

9. Cemetery Man AKA Dellamorte Dellamore AKA Demons '95 (1994)

I've never see The Mask of the Demon or The Black Cat, and I'm not a fan of The Church or Black Demons, but the rest are all worth a watch. Demons 1 and 2 are the only ones that are related, and I consider them both minor classics, and Cemetery Man is an all time favorite of mine.

Demons was alright. I remember the main chick being really hot, and I remember thinking the abrupt possession at the end was really stupid. Okay movie at best. Part 2 might be a little better, I think, but I also barely remember it.

Then, there's Demons 3: The Ogre, which was kinda shit. Black Demons was alright, but as a 90s movie, you can tell things are already starting to turn to shit for these Italian horror movies.

Most people ought to enjoy Cemetery Man / Demons '95, even though it has fucking zombies, not demons. Same could be said for Black Demons. Those Italians don't know wtf they're doing half the time.

The Sci-fi channel back in the '90s played this once

The Black Catย AKAย Il Gatto Neroย AKAย Demons 6: De Profundisย (1989)

I thought that was pretty interesting, but pretty typical cheap, crap late 80s Italian horror.

I've only seen it, Demons 1 and 2, The Church and Cemetery Man. Never knew Cemetery Man was released anywhere as a Demons film. Kooky stuff.

I'm surprised Cemetery Man is linked with Demons it's obviously zombies. Oh well you guys know I didn't like it very much. Gnaghi and the moments with his girlfriend were charming though. The protagonist and his muse were bleh.

Seen first Demons, forgot most of it already. I actually enjoyed the Ogre, not great but enjoyable. Demons 2 I'll still watch though.

I read Mask of the Demon is a tribute of Lamberto Bava to his father's movie, however not really appreciated that much.
The Black Cat sounds totally different from the versions I have seen.

I've seen Demons, Demons 2, The Church, The Black Cat, and Cemetery Man. Demons 1 and 2 are decent. Entertaining. I don't remember much about The Church or Cemetery Man. Both are long overdue for a rewatch. The Black Cat is okay. Funny that it's both an unofficial Demons sequel and an unofficial Three Mothers sequel (though the latter was their intention).

In Italy, everything's a sequel, even if it's not.

Sure but at least goblins and trolls are sort of similar in my game the family tree goes

Goblin > Hobgoblin > Orc > Ogre > Troll

demons and zombies are as different as an vampire and a shark, unless its a vampireshark

Maybe the title was referring to all of Francesco's personal demons.

Demons is my all time favorite horror movie. I could watch that every day. I really enjoy The Church, but I have to be in the right mood for it. The Church has some really cool poster art, I'd love to make a blanket of the poster.

I have watched Demons and Demons 2 recently, and I noticed something for the first time. When the main female character in Demons 2 (the pregnant young woman, Hannah, played by Nancy Brilli) when she answers the little boy's knocking at her door, she must have been SO blindsided by what happens. Most of the other characters at least have some idea what is going on, at that point in the movie. Many of them have already faced the demons themselves, for better or (almost always) for worse. But Hannah doesn't even know anything strange is going on, unless I missed something. She knows that there is a power outage, but so what? Power outages happen sometimes, that's no reason to think demons are coming to fuck you up. I don't think she was even watching the evil TV show that let the demons into our world. So, she wasn't even thinking about demons. She was just sitting there with some candles burning because of the power outage, waiting for her boyfriend to come home. When she answers the door, that kid totally demons out, and quickly spawns that disgusting gremlin alien demon hell-thing out of his stomach. That's one of the grossest, weirdest things to happen in the entire movie! And she had no preparation for it at all. A kid knocks on her door, she opens it, aaaannnnddd yikes-o-rama. What an awesome movie.

Just a small correction... I just scanned through the early-mid parts of Demons 2. I was right to say that Hannah is unaware of what is going on, specifically, but she did know that something was amiss. My bad... if you watch here, from 2:22:32 until 2:23:17, you can see that she hears some kind of commotion in the corrido outside her apartment. She has no sense of what is happening out there, but she is concerned enough totry to call the concierge guy downstairs, at which point she learns that the phones are out. So, she does know that something isn't quite right. But, I stand by my point that she was still pretty much totally blindsided by the kid, what he does, and what he spawns.

I wonder how many languages Natasha Hovey (Cheryl, in the original Demons movie) could/can speak? Look at the first couple paragraphs here. She had regular exposure to tons of languages. That doesn't mean she was proficient in all of them, of course, but I bet she was more proficient in them than, say, me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natasha_Hovey
