I absolutely won't ruin anything with spoilers for people who haven't seen this movie.
But it's difently worth the watch if you like Distrubing Fucked up movies it has everything you want in a Distrubing movie.
I absolutely loved this movie and rated it 10/10
Just wondering from the people here who saw it how they felt about the film and if my rating is to high.

Again it's a great rec for those who haven't seen the movie.

I rate it 7/10 or maybe 8 if I could stomach another viewing. Despite the depraved, fucked up content, the cinematography and look of the film was fantastic. I watched it for the Extreme challenge last year and it definitely gets you a few points.

I think that's why I rated it so high cause I loved how they filmed the movie.
Extreme Challange when do they have that I would difently enter up lately that's all I have been watching are Distrubing movies.
I tried so hard to make it thru The Green Elephant it's so boring but so gross to.
But there's something about Singapore Sling that I liked so much other then the making of the film, it gets better everytime I view the movie.

The Extreme Challenge usually takes place in December. I came 2nd last year because it was mostly first time viewings for me, but I dont think I will do so well this year.

I feel like I miss out while watching this because I'm not that well versed in classic noir and know nothing of Lacanian psychoanalysis, or whatever post-modern or structuralist or whatever hoodoo this is apparently modelled on. But on the other hand it's probably the wildest, best acted and most beautifully shot entry in the "rich people do weird stuff for kicks" subgenre I've come across, and it gets more and more fun every time I watch it. 8/10, could go up to perfection though.

I agree to I'am not well into Classic Noir either, the first time I viewed the film I took it as what messed up rich people will do with there money and etc.
But not 5min into the film I was hooked by how beautiful the film shot and done.
And has a far as Distrubing films go this top my list and I've seen them all, it seems like lately that's all I have been watching the so called most distrubing movies ever made.
And none of those other movies have came close to Singapore Sling. But that's just me.

I have your Sato rec Muscle up next after I watch Unhinged.
Thanks again for Rec.

I wouldn't really call it disturbing myself, but then I really like films about sexual perversion. Would definitely make my top ten weird/extreme cinema list, but just for sheer quality.

You're welcome dude, hope you enjoy it. I wouldn't really call it horror though, more dark sexploitation drama. It's horror friendly but I don't think it crosses the line into the genre outright. If you can find Sato's Celluloid Nightmares or Lolita Vibrator Torture, they are definitely horror, though you may want to save them for the extreme challenge.

One of my favorites. Always like to think of this as the beautifully sick and twisted sequel to Laura.

It might make a good double feature with Thundercrack (though I've not seen the latter... yet)

Love this little movie. Intimate and tactile. Seen it twice, eagerly bought the DVD. Love the photography, the rich textures, the fever-dream qualaity. Nightmare come to life. I'd love to doa review someday but I'm still working my way through one of the characters.

It's like Noir pushed to it's ulltimate conclusion, almost to the point of satire. Extraordinary performnce by the younger female lead, her voice uneven from living on the edge of permanent sexual edge, chronically orgasmic.

Doesn't do it for me, found it dull and irritating. Maybe i don't get it, won't go into detail for spoilers, but have no love for any of the characters & thier antics annoyed me rather than disturb. It's pretty stylish i suppose, but if ya want surrealist art house Femme Noir empowerment, Daises (1966) is the way to go
