I love tons of Asian horror but Megyaku sits close to the top for me just cause I'am convinced that the eye scene is REAL I've wathched that shit over 10 times and still can't figure how the fuck they pulled it off.

Here's all the great gore scenes from the film.

I like this movie too, but it's so damn boring and weird for most of it. The few gore scenes in it are fantatsic and make up for it, but everything else is so damn weird. Why the fuck did this movie have a cactus in it?!!!!

I do agree that it's boring as hell and have I been so convinced the eyeball scene wasn't real it would never have been rated so high from me. I really have watched that damn scene and can't figure how the hell they pulled it off but they did one hell of a job doing it like in Men Behind Sun on the cat scene I always thought that shit was real TIL they said they poured honey or something on the cat.

Finally someone agrees with me about what the fuck the cactus was doing in the film.

Maybe it's some weird Japanese thing, with the cactus.... I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Yeah that eye scene really is sweet. I would love to see a 'making of' with that.

The last time I watched this one was in the same month as a bunch of other Sato films and I honestly didn't think it was that weird. Had maybe one inexplicable moment (guy walking into the ocean and vanishing or something?). I think it just has the same problem as a few other Sato films, that it doesn't stand alone (despite stand alone plotting) and if you're not hooked on the fairly specific world he explores, it can just be obscure.

Doesn't stand alone you nailed it there excatly, it seems when you talk to people about Sato films it's always Megyaku that they bring up but to me some of his other films are better.
I'am still looking for Rampo Noir but I can't find it anywhere to buy or stream.
You no anything about this film.

I prefer Muscle, Rafureshia and Lesbian Rape: Sweet Honey Juice for sure. Maybe one or two others as well. I think Naked Blood is just the most popular because it doesn't contain any contentious sexual stuff. I've read that his original version is better, but just too rapey for anyone but pinku devotees. Haven't yet found it subtitled myself though and I only watch straight up splatter without.

Pretty sure Rampo Noir is on veehd.com, though I've not seen it myself and it may or may not still be there. You also might try wipfilms.net, though as its over two hours it might just be premium there.

Thanks BloodWank for the sites I found Rampo Noir and Muscle both I'am going to watch both of them for the Oct. Challenge.

Zed, here in Texas cactus grows like shit, it's everwhere I'll send you some. Lol
I rated it 8.5/10 but like Shaza said its boring but the gore scenes are off the chart.
Plus the eyeball scene gets me everytime.
That shit is REAL. Lol

6/10 Im gonna have to buy me a cactus. The gore was pretty well done. Pain feels good so I think I'll chop of my head, yes sounds like a brilliant idea, though if you're smart you'ld realize there aint so many pain receptors though, thus the level of pain aint gonna be that great and plus you'ld be soon dead, unless you get reanimated.
