Bone Tomahawk

by Skeelo

Oct '15 *
Absolutely brilliant. It more than lived up to my high expectations. Kurt Russell is manlier and more bad ass than ever and totally believable. Richard Jenkins is the best he's been in awhile and up there with Kurt as the star of the show. Matthew Fox wasn't bad either. Anyway, it's more of a straight western than horror, but there's a constant bleak tone and some pretty gruesome violence which really satisfied my taste buds. Without a doubt one of the best movies of 2015 so far. Highly recommended. It's tasty.

Absolutely one of the best films of 2015 in any genre. Excellent recommendation. Kurt Russell is outstanding as you say, as are the other men in this manly Western. Sparkling realistic dialogue and a tight narrative arc make this film as suspenseful and gripping as any you'll see. You'll also care a good deal about the characters. The mood in this film reminds me a lot of Deliverance- things inexorably get worse until you think they can't get any worse, but you're wrong. They can and they do. That's where the horror comes in....

9/10 for me.

Kurt Russell was AWESOME in the first film version of "Red Dragon" which was called "The Mean Season." Not to be missed.

It was good, miles better than The Green Inferno. Kurt Russell whetting our appetite for the new Tarantino western.

I did wonder how the 3 survivors would make it home though.. it was at least 3 days ride and they had no horse, no food, no water.. and his leg would have never have lasted.

Great fucking movie. I found it very creepy, tense the whole time, with great characters, and some hardcore violence. Kurt Russell is a legend.

I bought the hype and watched this one the other day... definitely the best, or one of the best western-horror hybrids I've seen and just a flat out great flick! The hype was right on the money on this one...
