I've been listening to nu metal all week while researching the dark web from the safety of Google. I haven't actually went on it yet because I don't want to watch kid porn, snuff films or feel tempted to order a hit on someones life I can't afford to pay. Anyone ever went on?

Anyway, check this shit out:

youtube

There's lots of this shit to be found. Can you think of any horror movies based on it?

First off... how can this be off-topic when we have no set topic? emoticon

And second... this is some horrible, horrible shit. You know this kind of crap has to exist somewhere on the web, but I've never actually thought about it until now. And hopefully, I'll never think about it again, because there's a big difference between movie-horror and real-life-horror, and the content of these websites represents the worst of humanity. I never want to visit these sites. Ever.

As for fictional deep-web scenarios... the Hostel films deal with this sort of subject matter in a sense. I feel like I've seen more, but I can't recall.

Non-movie related, so I made it OT lol.

Yeah I have no desire to see real life horror either. I saw an Isis video on a news website and that was bad enough; people harming and killing other people or animals for the pleasure of others is sickening.

That's just a small part of the deep web though apparently. Some people use it just to remain anonymous. Journalists, etc. A buddy of mine used Silk Road to buy weed once, but he said the messed up sites were visible. So if you do log in for something non-fucked up, you'll see some ads for hitmen and messed up porn, etc.

Hostel came to mind for me as well. And there's a segment in Cradle Fear directly inspired by pay-for-murder sites

I have watched a load of real life death stuff accidents & outright exicutions... i guess morbid curiosity but yea its all pretty fucking grim stuff, one of the worst ones that seems to be popular in Africa is putting a car tire over someone so they can't move then setting them on fire.

I also read about a game called a ''Truth or Rape''. If you pick rape you need to upload a video of you raping someone.

Never explored the deep web, doubt I ever will. Satisfying some morbid curioisity isn't worth it in my mind. That said, interesting video.

There's some fucked up stuff on the deep web; humanity at its worst. There was a recent cracked.com article about pedophilla on the deep web that I couldn't finish reading because it was too much. The deep web is basically a community for a huge lot of them and they're really good at keeping anonoymous too. Frightening to know that they're out there and intend to do harm.

I can't say I'll ever get around to exploring this deep web.

OK, that looks like something I'm not quite up to watching... sorry. But, I will say that it reminds me of My Little Eye, which had a lot about the deep web. It's pretty freaky, I recommend it. Also, it has that Chris Lemche guy in it, who isn't exactly a horror superstar, but he has done well in everything I've seen him in. So, that's good.... yup yup yup yup.
