It's that time of the year again. You all know the drill but for any newbies, here are the rules:

> At least 31 horror films must be watched during the month of October. 16 of these must be FTVs (first time viewings).
> You get 1 "point" per movie watched.
> Runtime is 45 minutes minimum.
> Kiddy-friendly "Halloween themed" movies will be permitted as long as there is some element of horror or spooky fun, i.e. A Nightmare Before Christmas, Goosebumps, The Addams Family, etc.
> If unsure on whether a movie is "horror" or not, please refer to the usual suspects: IMDb, Wiki, Letterboxd, etc.
> Documentaries and TV shows will not be accepted, however mockumentaries will be.
> The challenge will begin at 00:00 hours on October 1st in your time zone.

If there is anything I have missed, let me know over in the shoutbox. Use it for discussions too.

6/10 Terror in the Wax Museum (1973) 93m - Actually quite entertaining, I assumed I had the right killer as I missed that part where they explained it at the end (even though I saw it), I was think oh no dont make it ray millard, as that didnt make sense as he was much fatter than the killer, then I saw him just at the end so thats a relief
7/10 Haunts of the Very Rich (1972) 75m - Starts off like Fantasy Island, Decent if very predictable TV movie, though thank god they revealed the 'twist' quite early on and not at the end.
4/10 Unhuman (2022) 91m - The plot was pretty stupid, though decently made and acted. The ending was just sad.
5/10 Napsu gila (1973) 95m - The lead had the pissed off look down pat. Some decent acting here esp from old ppl. The music choices were some of the oddest ever, they had nothing to do with what ever was happening on screen.
4/10 No, the Case Is Happily Resolved (1973) 98m - The title saiz it all, haha WTF it was an insult, I was watching and seeing theres only 10 mins to go theres no way they can finish it, which is OK as the innocent guy was a total dofus, and if theres a case for an innocent man being locked away he was making a strong case. Anyways they resolved it with a 5 second phonecall at the end and the innocent man turning to the camera and going 2 thumbs up fonzi style , ayyyyyeeee. Fuck the stupid viewer for the last 90 minutes. how the hell does this have 7.0 on IMDB
3/10 Jacqueline Hyde (2005) 94m - More over the top groaning than a porn film, I had to turn it down cause of the neighbours. Both of the girls are not that attractive, thats something I find weird about a lot of films in the US, there are attractive women there, in fact whilst not up to north/east europe standards they are higher than spain so why do they cast these plain jane 6 or 7 looking women in the 'hot' women roles. I could understand it if they could act, but usually they can't
7/10 Knock at the Cabin (2023) 100m - The twist being M Night made a good film again
4/10 Knucklebones (2016) 85m - Took about 40mins before the film started to get going, the Killer had quite a good personality, if it was made in the 80s I'm sure it would of spawned a franchise
7/10 The Forbidden Room (1977) 102m - One of the weirder films one could hope to see, the guy playing the nutter was great. Of course in reality no one would behave so
6/10 The Guyver (1991) 88m - The creature suits are nicely made, better than a lot of big budget efforts. Yuzna's the producer hense the strong body horror. The humour is strong in this one, I can see that being offputting to a lot of folks. Noone plays a slimy villian better than david gale, pity he wasnt in more stuff.
6/10 A Black Veil for Lisa (1968) 95m - The old guy is jealous cause he suspects his wife is having an affair, shes 30 and attractive, hes 60+. Mate if you're the jealous type then possibly don't choose an attractive lady younger than your daughter. I love Jimmy il Fenomeno IMDB's headshot until I googled his photo's and they're all like that
6/10 Libido (1965) 90m - One of the bleakest endings you could see in a film, its good as it raised its score a point from an otherwise mundane picture
7/10 Witchhammer (1970) 107m - Not as good as the devils, witchfinder general, blackadder et al, but still worth a watch.
6/10 Wacko (1982) 87m - Jokes thick and fast in the style of police squad enough hit to be a worthwhile watch, the guy stealing his daughters underwear from outside the window was classic.
6/10 Steel and Lace (1990) 92m - Rape revenge film with an android doing the killing, well made but instantly forgettable
4/10 Blood Bath (1966) 62m - Cobbled together from a few films, actually editted well, though the sory is a bit disjointed obviously
5/10 Some Like It Rare (2021) 87m - Theres been a lot of similar stories made already in story and tone
6/10 Fear of Rain (2021) 109m - Better than I thought it was gonna be, The main part was predictable but there was a twist that I didnt get. I don't like romance films though
7/10 Mister Designer (1987) 109m - Russian art film, not too much wankery though feeels like it was adapted from an old russian piece of literature like Gogol. Well filmed and acted.
5/10 After Death (1915) 46m - By coincidence another Russian film about unrequited love and suicide, pretty boring. Decent film quality though for 1915.
2/10 Sex Files: Portrait of the Soul (1998) 91m - Starts off with the X-files theme, the thing with these simulated sex scenes is you can often see theres no way it works eg from that position how can his dick be in any hole. Theres one scene where the lady on the outside is looking through the window at the steamy action inside, she rubs a patch on the window to clear away the condensation to see but mate, condensation happens on the inside.
5/10 Cthulhu Mansion (1992) 92m - Bad reviews but its not too bad at all, seems most ppl were upset with the Lovecraft title even though there was no relation. FX decent as well. The story was the old group of criminals go to a house where bad stuff happens to them.
5/10 Phantom Town (199) 90m - In light of Jeff Burr dying I watched a film of his I aint seen (from a whisper to a scream is his best), decently made though the main protagonists was annoying after a while.
4/10 Stay Out of the Basement (2023) 71m - Forgettable low budget effort
6/10 Guyver: Dark Hero (1994) 127m - Like the first film, Some great creature costumes, the kung-fu level was much higher as well, they actually employed ppl that can do it this time.
4/10 A Quiet Place to Kill (I) (1970) 88m - Nothing special
5/10 The Clown at Midnight (1998) 91m - Some big stars in this, filmed in the Giallo style. I'm not actually sure why they signed on. Forgotten film and rightly so
6/10 Deadbeat at Dawn (1988) 80m - Great film you can tell it was a labour of love. What you get if you get a bunch of 15 year old boys a camera and tell them to let rip.
5/10 Human Lanterns (1982) 99m - I guess its all the hundreds of chop socky films I've seen from the 70,80s but they really had a very limited choice of actors
3/10 Bikini Island (1991) 85m - The women were actually decent looking for a US film from that time. 2 of the deaths were due to a toilet plunger to the face, once was bad enuf but twice!
5/10 Hideous! (1997) 82m - Jacqueline Lovell looked nice in this, apparently she also done porn. She actually looks like a friend of mine in Ukraine. One of the better fullmoon 'creature' films
COMPLETED
4/10 The Projected Man (1966) 77m - The make up was terrible but a reasonably entertaining UK sci-fi/horror
4/10 The Oily Maniac (1976) 84m - I've been wanting to watch this for years, as I heard some good things about this cat 3 film. But a bit of a let down
4/10 Humanoids from the Deep (1996) 86m - I know many don't like this remake but I thought it was quite entertaining, and some decent gore for a TV film
5/10 The Curse of the Living Corpse (1964) 84m - Actually quite violent for the year it was made
4/10 Last Gasp (1995) 93m - Felt like half a film, the curse part was not fleshed out at all.
3/10 Primal Force (1999) 86m - Ron Perlman stars in this shitty film. The Kilamanjaro film showed how to do a killer babboon film. In here you only see glimpses of them, mostly in very closeup or if its a long way away the camera has a very shallow DOF so you cant see anything as its blurry as fuck. I assume cause the babboons were guys in suits
6/10 The Black Torment (1964) 85m - Nice acting from the main guy, he played the spoilt rich prick perfectly. The ending was a bit lame though

3/10 Girls School Screamers (1985) 86m - Apparently Troma added some gore later on to this film. Theres no nudity not even a flash of an ankle, and for the first 3/4 nothing happens apart from some terrible acting and then get a whole string of killings, not sure why I rated it 3/10 TBH
6/10 Brooklyn 45 (2023) 93m - I had to stop this and check when it was set, yep 1945. So why were there a group of pensioners talking about WW2, oh it must have something to do with the story, they'ld been there for decades, wich is gonna be the twist. But no its not, one of the worse casting choices ever in a film, Everyone is decades too old for their roles. Actually thinking about this the next day, mind blowing bad casting choices

No its easy, cause they keep on adding new ones

Some years ago I looked on IMDB how many horror films from the 20th century I hadn't rated and it was 3xxx,
A few months ago I looked it was 48xx, now its 4903
Next year I guess it will be above 5000

Even though I keep watching films and rating them thus the number should go down, but it just keeps rising

whats better
Highly or Strongly?
Reminds me of years ago in NZ, they introduced new words for sizes in some pizza chain, cause with small, medium, large.
Noone wants to say small for amrketting
So it became (not actually sure the words but I think it was) regular, large, big.

They done a poll, 55% of ppl got the answer wrong about what was actually bigger, large or big?
Maybe it was regular, big, large
