I am going to put the 80s challenge in as a challenge for next year. I have had several people tell me they like it. And it's a nice fun challenge to wind down the year!

Awesome. We have a year, so if you really want to let me know! Also feel free to do a challenge of your own. You can do a mini one like slashers, or do a full month one of you want. Anything is possible.

I have a suggestion not a challenge but a TE top 250 horror movie list being the result of everyone who wants to make a list of minimum 50 and maximum 250 (they must be ranked)?

That actually sounds very interesting. I say go for it, I would love to see everyone's list.

Perhaps you could work out the final list by giving 50 points to the no.1 movie on any given list, 49 to the no.2 movie, 48 to no.3 and so on until it's 1 point for the no.50 movie. Say for example, The Exorcist was at no.1 for three lists, no.2 for two lists and no.7 for another list, it would end up with 292 points. Working with this many points would make it easier to compile that final list.

I think that would be a good way to come up with a list of 250 or so movies.

Yes that's the points method I had in mind if everyone would make a top 50. the gap between 50 and 250 is however too big and makes bigger lists less valuable especially for the lowest ranked movies.

The method that is used at Dutch movie board for top 1000 general movies (takes place every 2 years) is making a ranked list of

Maximum: 500
Minimum: 250
As you can see it's always divided in 2

So I was thinking about a top 300 horror movies, with everyone making a ranked list of
Maximum: 150
Minimum: 75

That should be doable for us horror fans I think.
