Hey everyone, I have been away for a long times, and currently do not watch movies anymore. I cannot even remember the last movie I watched. I had a question for the parents on here. Or a couple.

So I had a son this past October, he is a very chill baby, but I still haven't taken him to a theater. Im super nervous about taking him the first time. He loves watching the tv when its on.

He is 4 months old, 5 months on the 11th. Im taking my grandma to watch the new scream movie when it comes out, and I will he taking my son. We will be going to an earlier movie on a weekday as I dont know how he will react. Do the parents on here have any tips? My dad apparently took me all the time, but cant seem to give me any helpful tips.

Also, as a first time mom, would the sound system be too loud? Should I look for baby ear muffs? Any help appreciated. Because I really miss going to the movies.

Just stick her on your tit and time the screening for when she typically goes to sleep.
Too loud, nah babies sleep through everything if they're asleep, subway, road traffic etc

Lol that would totally work if I was breast feeding. Darn, i stopped too soon. Jk. Once my son is asleep he stays asleep. But falling asleep is a whole new ball game. He wants to be involved and watches everything. The first movie I watched coming home after having him was Halloween Ends and he slept through that, but he was a week old, and wasnt as alert

papaya is good for increasing your milkflow, half a kilo a day, took my gf maybe 3 days of eating that and she noticed the difference

I was doing some research, did you know in the old days, milk formula companies used to help design/pay for hospitals and they would have seperate baby rooms, i.e. to keep baby away from mum, because they knew get them hooked on the formula ASAP and you can make cash, even though even decades ago they knew breast milk was healthier, basically the same tricks the cigarette industry used.
Pretty evil when you think of it, Free milk samples as well, actually I think here they were giving us free milk as well in the hospital.

EDIT: actually a better more recent example is the oxycodone, which has nearly killed a million people in the USA and they knew the dangers all along, of course since they are extremely wealthy the company and the family behind it didn't spend any time in jail

Wow crazy! And yes they gave us free formula as well. My son was born 3 weeks early, and I couldn't breastfeed, but it is astounding how much formula is pushed.

And wow that is crazy! I didn't know that.

You're in the US right?
Then you must know rule #1 of US society.

RULE #1
I can do what ever I want and fuck everyone else

Be it not wearing a mask during a pandemic, fuck everyone else
belching black smoke out of my car, fuck everyone else
calling a car a truck (see above), fuck everyone else
taking my baby to the movie theatre , fuck everyone else

Yes I am in the US. And obvious if I go anf he cries I will leave. I plan on getting a seat close to the exit. The only reason I am going is to take my grandma who loves watching movies. And my dad took me and it is something we bonded over growing up. So I want to do that with my kids. So that is honestly why I am asking for advice. Because people do take their baby. And we would go to the first showing on a weekday while most people are at work.

Sounds like unamerican talk to me lassie.
If anyone tells you to leave cause of a crying kid in the middle of the movie theatre, tell them to fuck off, and for good measure light up a cigarette and start blasting out the star spangled banner on your ghetto blaster whilst getting one of your queer friends to start reading a story to your kid dressed in drag.
Don't let them impinge on your rights

You might wanna consider arming the kid just in case someone complains, You're in the US so you might wanna get a little handgun for the tot.
Here the best we can manage is a knife, still its OK in close distances

Going the time of day you chose is a good start. Won't be as crowded and less stressful to you and the baby.

The only thing I worry about as you stated is the noise. Theaters seem to have a much better and LOUDER sound system than when my kids were babies. Just monitor him throughout the movie and maybe give him a break for a minute or two. If you can get him to wear the ear muffs that would be good. Be sure to bring a favorite toy or two and a favorite blanket. Sometimes it gets cold in theaters. You and Jasper will do just fine. Be sure to let us know how he reacted! emoticon

My pleasure! I know I've seen them before. You might have to order them from Amazon, but it's worth it.

It's so much fun when they get big enough to sit and watch the movie. I can't wait until you get to live that moment and see his little eyes light up.

I believe I recall saying congratulations on becoming a mom when you stopped by in October but congrats again, you sound happy and am therefore happy for you. I know you want to start having experiences like going to the cinemas with your son but he won't recall any of this at his age. My 1st memories are when I was 3. My aunt took me and my older cousins to a Disney double feature Bambi and 101 Dalmatians I believe. I vaguely remember the idea of it. When I was 4 my pops took me to see Star Wars in 1977, that I remember vividly cause I freaked out when people started jumping up and down, screaming and clapping after the crawl during the 1st scene. The hippy chick sitting on the other side of me was trying to calm me down, comforting me telling me everything was ok. My pops was laughing his ass off while thanking her. Later while leaving he joked with me saying 4 yrs old and a ladies man already. Next he took me to see Jaws 2 and when nobody stood and screamed I was like what is this bullshit! Pops explained what happened during Star Wars doesn't happen often. I felt gyped but during my 3rd trip to the cinemas I saw Superman and while not as intense as Star Wars the audience did have a reaction. Anyways, just felt like sharing some childhood memories there... here's to you making and enjoying some with your son in the future. My pops laughed with me about my Star Wars reaction to the end and this put a smile on my face thinking about it as I typed it out...thx!
