Michael (Kurt Russell) and Karen (Madeleine Stowe) live in a nice suburban home in LA, until an encounter with an intruder gets them all hot and bothered about home security. Enter Pete (Ray Liotta), the helpful police officer answering the call. He's so helpful, he gets a team to install security on the whole house. Yeah, there's not much he wouldn't do for Karen. Now, if only that asshole Michael wasn't in the picture...

A pretty good 90s thriller. You can't hate this movie because of the cast alone. I'm surprised I've never even heard of this movie until now. I'm so out of touch, it makes me sick.

Oh, I forgot the most important part... the unlawful entry itself. Is there rape in this movie you (don't) ask? Well spoiler here, I think he diddle's her for like 2 seconds, so there's that. 😐

For some reason from the title I was thinking of the 70s film 'forced entry' which is also about rape

There's a decent movie from 1990: Pacific Heights. You review makes me think of it. It's not the same, but is sort of comparable in some ways, and is from about the same time period. It has Michael Keaton, playing a psycho! Soooo that's good. You got me thinking about that general type of movie, about the situation you describe and the sexual and psycho dynamics that go on there... I know I have seen other, similar films, but I'm having trouble remembering them. I'll let you know if I can remember.

You know, I actually watched that one right after. Not exactly the same premise, but I know what you mean about them being similar. Both early 90s thrillers set in California about shady fucks trying to ruin people's lives.
